Data Collection

The TunnelFox® is an autonomous intelligent inspection platform that facilitates predictive maintenance and promotes asset reliability and availability. The Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) solution conducts checks and data collection automatically on your rail’s critical assets such as tunnel cracks, clearance, dampness and track bolt thinning.

The TunnelFox®'s 3D tunnel scanner is able to detect cracks as fine as 0.3mm, mark defect locations and generate image recording of the tunnel surface, a thermographic image and a three-dimensional measurement survey data for analysis. This reduces the scope for human error, safeguards crew and tracks, and helps operators save up to 95% of the man-hours used in conventional rail inspection methods. With a portable and modular design, the TunnelFox® allows for easy assembly and deployment and supports integrated and modular payloads. The LIDARS and ultrasonic sensors detect obstacles of up to 20m away while the multi-sensor technology provides precise localisation and navigation.

Analysis & Diagnosis

Collected data is analysed to detect anomalies and possible defects that might lead to breakdowns and alerts users to dispatch repairs before failure occurs. This improves the reliability and lifespan of the assets and will help rail operators reduce up to 20% of maintenance costs.

Critical assets condition monitoring and platform analytics solutions are designed to monitor and diagnose rail critical assets, and provide user with real-time visibility and alerts on the health status of each asset. The range of assets include rolling stock, signalling, permanent way, power, point machine, track circuit, sump pump, elevator, escalator, fan, and tunnel structure. The diagnosis reveals the root of operational problems, predicts anomalies, and guides the most effective corrective action to prevent failure of rail assets. This minimises downtime and maximises equipment efficiency at the lowest possible maintenance costs.

Electronic cards play a critical role in controlling various functions, and communication between train and track equipment. Faulty electronic cards and failure of any of its components can affect the train’s overall performance, downtime duration and maintenance cost. The common challenges faced by the industry include long repair lead time, high diagnostics and repair costs by OEMs and limited end-of-life support/obsolescence.

With an ANSI ESD 20:20 certified electronic card workshop complete with state-of-the-art test and diagnostic equipment, our electronics card centre has robust capabilities to repair, recondition and refurbish electronic cards, offering up to 60% shorter repair turnaround time and up to 30% in repair cost efficiency for public transport operators.
